Charlestowne Academy, as the only K-12 public school in the state of South Carolina, has earned much recognition for its accomplishments during its decade of service to the community. This recognition is strong acknowledgement of the dedication that the teachers, student body, and the community bring to this school. Charlestowne Academy offers the continuity of an environment that nurtures the developmental, educational, and social growth of its students from kindergarten through high school. This unique situation ensures the village approach to the education of the Charlestowne Academy students. It is my good fortune to serve as Charlestowne Academy's Principal for the 2008-2009 school year. I am committed to ensuring a learning environment conducive to meeting the challenges of academic rigor required by the Charleston Plan for Excellence. I look forward to the accomplishments of our students and teachers as I serve as the Instructional Leader of Charlestowne Academy.

•Charlestowne Academy is now accredited by the SouthernAssociation of Colleges and Schools.
•Charlestowne Academy has been awarded the 2004 Palmetto GoldAward for academic excellence.
•Charlestowne Academy has been recognized by the State Department of Education for raising our SAT scores by 85 points.
•Charlestowne Academy is one of only 9 high schools in the state to meet AYP guidelines.
